Primary 1A have been working hard on their Living and Growing topic. As part of this we have been learning about looking after plants and growing our own sunflowers. We have also been looking at the life cycle of a butterfly and currently have caterpillars in class. On Thursday the 19th May we went to Edinburgh Zoo to continue our learning about Living and Growing. We had lots of fun!

Jack in P4B won a Christmas card design competition. His prize is for Mr Pritt and his team to run a fun arts and crafts session for his class. This will be taking place on 24th May. We’ll post some more photos of the event after this time.
This was the card that Jack designed.

Pupils in P2B have been exploring lots of different media.
Pupils used oil pastels to create these hielan coos.

Daniel made this cute highland cow.
Art Display
P3B
As part of learning about people in the past we looked at the shield designs of medieval Scottish knights. We designed our own shields and used different art media to complete them. Have a look at some of our designs.

These are the shields that Ola and Jack designed.
Edinburgh Festival Workshop
Edinburgh Festival Workshop ‘Anything that gives off Light’
On Wednesday 20th April, our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed a creative writing and art workshop run by the Edinburgh Festival.
Our pupils spent the day with poet and writer Russell Jones, writing poems and creating interesting pieces of art which represent families and communities.
The results of the workshop will be displayed in an installation in front of the Scottish Parliament for the duration of the Edinburgh Festival in August. 1,000 children in Edinburgh are taking part in this exhibition named ‘Anything that gives off Light’.
This was a fantastic learning experience for our pupils and one they will remember for a long time.
