Nursery Places August 2020

The Scottish Government has postponed the requirement to provide 1140 hours of early learning and childcare for all our children. This means that the early years` team will need to look at the provision that will be available across the city for August on a setting by setting basis. Where 1140 hours has been implemented already we will try to ensure this will continue for families. Please find a link to the letter from the Senior Education Manager. At the moment we are unable to answer queries about this as we simply do not yet know the answers. Please be reassured that the council’s early years team continue to work extremely hard to offer the fullest provision that they can.

Wuhan coronavirus

The NHS have provided us with reference points regarding the evolving outbreak of respiratory illness in China, centred around Wuhan in Hubei province. No cases of this illness have been confirmed in the UK and the risk to people in this country is low. As it is winter, most respiratory illnesses in the UK and China are due to the common cold and other viruses including influenza.
