Free school meals and help with schoolwear

The City of Edinburgh Council provides pupils from low income families with free school meals and money to help towards buying school clothes.

Find out if you match the conditions to claim free school meals(external link) on the Scottish Government website.

If you match these conditions you can also get free milk and a clothing grant. The meals award provides a pupil with one school meal and milk each day they attend school. The clothing grant is £100 for each child. All children in primary 1 to 3 receive free school meals, but not free milk or a clothing grant. You must apply. Please see the council website for more information:  http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/info/20183/food_and_clothing/392/free_school_meals_and_help_with_schoolwear/1

Curriculum Entitlements at Ferryhill

This year we’ve been working on our curriculum ‘entitlements’ plan. These are the opportunities we would expect to provide for a child in our school by the end of P1, P4 and P7.

Some of these opportunities are already in place and others will be new for us. It will take time for us to fully deliver this plan.

Through consultation with parents, pupils and staff we have been able to develop these. To see the plan for Curriculum Entitlements please click here and the feedback from this process, please click here.
